Among the topics she will cover
in her presentation are:
-
What is the definition of
self publishing?
-
What are the benefits of
pursuing self publishing as opposed to following the
traditional pathways to being published: that
is: search for an agent who submits to established
publishing houses?
-
Why is it easier to sell
nonfiction rather than fiction? What are some
good marketing strategies?
-
Should I publish print on
demand only? Offset? A combination? What about
distribution? Will I have a presence in the brick and
mortars?
-
We’ve all heard the success
stories of self published books being picked up for a
handsome sum by major publishers. How did these sales
come about and what are realistic expectations as a new
publisher/author?
-
What kind of investment: time
and money, can I expect to make if I self-publish?
-
The critical importance of
planning, organization, research, patience and
mind-boggling persistence.
